Father and son drown in KZN Midlands boat tragedy
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
A father and son have drowned after their boat capsized in a dam in the KZN Midlands yesterday.

Police search and rescue divers had to be called in to retrieve the victims’ bodies. The 18 year-old boy and his father, thought to be in his 40s, had been on the water near a guesthouse bed and breakfast.
The holidaymakers had allegedly not been wearing life jackets. Netcare911’s Chris Botha says emergency services were immediately called out.
"Both of them sank to the bottom of the dam - tragically drowning," he said.
"The police divers from Pietermaritzburg came out and they pin-pointed where they were under the water and they managed at around 17:45pm to retrieve both bodies," Botha said.
Police are investigating the incident.
