Don't drink water from taps: uMhlathuze Municipality
Updated | By Christopher Motabogi
Detailed water test results are expected to be handed to the uMhlathuze Municipality today, after heavily-chlorinated water came out of the taps in Empangeni and surrounding Richards Bay suburbs.

Municipal spokesperson Mdu Ncalane says residents complained about
the bad-tasting water and bad odour emanating from it.
He says preliminary tests showed the water was safe for drinking, but there were issues with the source.
Ncalane has however strongly recommended that in the interim, residents refrain from consuming the water.
"We also sent it to uMhlathuze water laboratories for advanced testing so we are expecting that by midday today we will receive those results and further inform members of the public - those who are affected," he said.
