'Countrywide stay away shouldn't affect postal services'
Updated | By Chanelle Lutchman
SA Post Office CEO Mark Barnes says he doesn't expect services at its branches to be affected tomorrow and on Friday when employees from the Communication Workers Union go on strike.

He says they've received notice for a stay-away, but contingency plans are in place to reduce service interruptions at post offices countrywide.
According to Barnes, he has communicated with employees regarding labour issues.
He says the Post Office has started recovering in terms of service standards and is in the process of making financial improvements.
However the company needs funding to address the concerns of its employees and Barnes believes a strike at this time which will jeopardise current funding arrangements and will not help to address workers issues.
He says they will continue to engage all trade unions on matters that affect employees.
Workers claim they have not received any salary adjustments in the last two years.
