Updated | By Khatija Nxedlana
A ward councillor in the Hlobane area near Vryheid in northern KZN is negotiating with police to give a group of community members and mine workers permission to enter Vaalkrantz Anthracite Colliery.

The group of almost 100 people wants to take food to their co-workers who're staging a sit-in underground at Vaalkrantz Anthracite Colliery.
The group is waiting outside the boom gates with the police on the other side adamant that only five people may enter.
