Cleanup expected for Durban beaches this morning
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
A cleanup of the Durban beaches will be held today at the Blue Lagoon and Durban harbour respectively.

This follows harsh torrential rains which left mountains of refuse on the coast line. One of the organisers, Dale Johnson, says he is expecting around 100 people to attend each event to start at 9:30 this morning.
"We are looking at the source of the problem. So we are looking up the river, looking into illegal dumping along the uMgeni River," he said.
"We actually did a backtrack up the entire river, all the way up to Inanda Dam where the mind boggles at the amount of illegal dumping," Johnson said.
"We are looking at going forward with a whole lot of people and organisations in fixing the problem," he said.
