East Coast Radio's Toy Story launched
Through East Coast Radio’s Toy Story with Game you can make make a difference to a child’s life, without superpowers.
As part of this annual initiative, new toys are handed out to children at government hospitals, crèches, orphanages and child-headed households around the province.
Through cash donations food parcels are also put together specifically geared for child-headed households during the long December holidays.
The project was launched this morning at St Aidans Hospital in Durban.
During last year’s Toy Story 50 000 new toys, which were generously donated by the people of KwaZulu-Natal, were handed over to underprivileged children.
R1.6-million was also received in cash donations, which saw more than 4 500 food parcels being distributed.

“It’s truly humbling to be able to facilitate giving on such an enormous scale. Together with our listeners last year alone we touched around 70 000 children. We’re so excited about being able to reach out to even more little ones this year,” says East Coast Radio’s Marketing Manager, Renee Burton.
Donate a toy at any Game store in KZN or make a cash donation at a till point in store or online at ww.ecr.co.za - from September 30. Toy Story’s courier partner Dawn Wing will then help get the toys to the children.
Meanwhile Red Cross Air Mercy Services ensure that every state paediatric ward in the province is a recipient, by distributed toys to outer lying hospitals. UTi will assist with collections from participating schools, while a team of Rotary volunteers are also instrumental in helping sort, pack and deliver the toys.
