IEC says by-elections to be held following killed candidates
Updated | By Khatija Nxedlana
The IEC in KZN says by-elections will be held in the three areas where deceased candidates won in their wards.

Provincial Electoral Officer, Mawethu Mosery, yesterday handed over the results of the municipal polls to KZN Premier, Willies Mchunu, at the Durban ICC yesterday.
"Those three are candidates who were killed in Harding, Ladysmith and Newcastle. All 3 did win their wards with a high majority," he said.
"All of them received over 60% voter support in each of their wards," Mosery said.
Mosery says the by-elections will happen 90 days after the 10th of August. He has requested the assistance of political parties saying the IEC must collect the addresses of voters in those three wards.
Without addresses community members will not be able to participate in the by-elections.
