'Scream 6' cast

'Scream VI' stars Hayden Panettiere, Melissa Barrera, and Jenna Ortega - who recently starred in Netflix's 'Wednesday'.

Courteney Cox reprises her role as Gale Weathers. This is the first movie in the franchise that will not star Neve Campbell - who played Sidney Prescott.

ET asked Jenna, who plays Tara Carpenter, how the film will address Neve being MIA. She says there will be a few Sidney references in the film, but there is so much happening that fans won't notice her absence.

"There's so much going on in this next one, that it's so action-heavy and so gore-heavy that I think you're gonna be distracted almost. But it's very clear, like, there's references to Sidney, of course. You know, it's nice because there's still a protectiveness in the script and that's something that the actors had naturally over her because obviously we respect her and we want the best for her. She's missed and thought of," she said.

The film will be released in South Africa on Friday, March 10.
