The 27-year-old has announced that the album's lead single will be called, '1:59'. She shared the news on her official Instagram page at 1:59pm.

Normani revealed in February that she has a new album on the way. The singer has yet to announce the release date of the offering.

'Dopamine' is Normani's first solo album since her departure from 'Fifth Harmony'. The group, which was created on 'The X Factor USA' in 2012, parted ways in March 2018 to pursue solo careers

Camila Cabello had already left the group in 2016.

Fifth Harmony - then a foursome - released their final music video together, 'Don't Say You Love Me', two months after announcing their "indefinite hiatus".

All five members, including Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, and Lauren Jauregui, have released projects since then.

Normani achieved success with her 2019 hit, 'Motivation'. The song paid tribute to stars such as Beyoncé, J.Lo, Aaliyah, Ashanti, Ciara, and Britney Spears.

The song was a major hit outside of America, including South Africa, where it made it onto the ECR Top 40 chart.

Another of her top singles includes 'Dancing With a Stranger' with Sam Smith. She also collaborated with Cardi B on 'Wild Side' and Khalid on 'Love Lies'.

Normani told Who What Wear in an interview that everything that has happened to her in the past 12 years has been preparing her for her new album.

"For me, this upcoming album is not just about music coming out. It feels like a representation of everything I’ve gone through to get to this moment. I know I needed time, experiences, and space coming out of [Fifth Harmony] in order to become the version of myself I needed to be. Without [all of that], I would not be able to exist within the creative space that I am in now. I would not be able to make the type of music I’m making now.”
