Don’t take a job simply because it’s the highest paying; don’t ignore some wrong-doing because "I need this job"; and don’t defend indefensible actions because “I can't afford to be fired”.
Learn to walk away from things that don’t make sense, clients that are unsavoury, even if it costs you financially. It will be a temporary setback (yes, you might be unemployed and broke for some time), but once your reputation for doing the right thing is established, the world is your oyster.
