#BigFavour builds more than just a roof for Sbuh

Bev had written into the Big Favour to tell us about the young man she’d met and had known for a few years, Sbuh Ntomnela, who needed more than a helping hand.

Listen to the heart-warming story here or read the details under the podcast:

Sbuh stays in Hammarsdale and takes care of his elderly Gran and younger sister. Sbuh had mentioned to Bev that he had been sleeping over at his place of work because other workers were striking, and it wasn’t safe for him to go home.

Sbuh didn’t want to strike and had chosen to carry on working. The next call was from Sbuh telling Bev that protesters had petrol-bombed his house and burned it to the ground - because he’d chosen to continue working.

Sbuh’s Gran and sister were in the house at the time but managed to escape the fire, but they’ve been left with nothing.
Everything was burned to the ground.

We made a call to Tim Spann – The Operations Manager from Clothing Junction who have helped us so many times in the past - and once again they jumped on board to help with a new wardrobe of clothing for Sbuh, his Gran, and sister.

Then, last week, I had a call from Jawitz Properties CEO Herschel Jawitz who had heard the story and wanted to get involved.

Upon hearing that Shuh still hadn’t fixed the roof of his home, he donated R15,000 towards replacing the roof.

Isn’t that incredible?!

Thank you, Herschel and the Jawitz property team.
