SA records highest COVID-19 deaths in 24 hrs

The Health Minister’s released another grim toll, as we battle the coronavirus pandemic.
Another 216 people have died after contracting COVID-19, bringing the total number of fatalities in the country to 4 669.
KwaZulu Natal’s recorded 41 of those new deaths.
The provincial death toll’s gone up to 358 now.

Zweli Mkhize says just over 13 100 new infections were registered in the past 24 hours, taking the number of positive cases we’ve identified so far to more than 324 000.
Over 35 and a half thousand cases have been recorded in KZN, over 118 000 in Gauteng, the worst affected province and nearly 83 000 in the Western Cape.
Overall, there’ve been over 165 000 recoveries.
