With poor communities bearing the brunt of the COVID-19 crisis - a social investments company says it's found a way to track social relief responses.

Nikki Griffiths - who's with social investment group Tshikululu - says they've launched a project map that tracks how government, NGOs, foundations and individuals are responding to the humanitarian crisis.
The map allows them to see interventions in each community.

The two-month-old initiative has already tracked over R1.7 billion in social responses.
"We want to also create a map, with as much data as possible, to be able to introduce transparency and that funders can see where the funding is going and that might in future guide decision making for future funding," says Griffiths.
