Roller coaster riders stuck 20m in the air!
Updated | By Natarah Nadesan
Imagine being suspended upside down in a roller coaster for half an hour!

I'm not usually afraid of heights but reading about what these people went through is enough to put me off the funfair for good! It happened yesterday at a theme park in England called Alton Towers.
About 28 people were enjoying a roller coaster ride when it suddenly stopped at the top of the first loop. The riders were left left hanging upside down in their seats, 20m above the ground and for half an hour while technicians worked on the problem.
Many people began freaking out because they were worried their seatbelts would give up and cause them to plunge to the ground below.

It's believed heavy rainfall and flooding at the theme park may have caused the ride's electrics to trip.
