Let's be honest, the pressure to get 'in shape' because of images we see on social media, in films, and on television does have an effect on us. We are constantly on the lookout for what the media portrays as sexy women and handsome men. But when it comes to pressures about looking good, does this only affect women or are men also facing the same struggles?

According to UNILAD, a 25-year-old plus-size male model from London has opened up about the pressures that bigger men go through when trying to look good in clothing. He says: "I see it in the school I work at – young boys getting bullied and having issues with their shape and size because they don’t feel like they look like the guys in magazines."

After reading some of his comments, it got me thinking...

We all know that the fashion industry has been under scrutiny for years when it comes to models - mostly because they're seen as being too thin, but let's be honest, a platform is being given to ‘plus-size’ models, so why aren't people paying attention to all sides of the 'body' story? There are references to draw from, but are we only interested in what is perceived to be 'healthy' and 'gorgeous'?

As much as we want to be individuals, I think we all want to look like Instagram models and I wonder how many men are having issues with their shape and size?
