A controversial documentary showcasing tell-all tapes of Princess Diana has made Channel 4 the most watched channel this year, even though it's been heavily criticised for broadcasting them in the first place.

The tapes were never meant to be seen in public, as the princess’s death has been the subject of lengthy legal battles and accusations of huge betrayal.

While a lot of people and even one of Diana's closest friends believe it is a "betrayal of her privacy", Channel 4 came back and said the tapes give Diana a voice.

In the run-up to the 20th anniversary of her death in a car crash in Paris in 1997, the documentary featured Diana speaking openly and informally about her upbringing, her courtship with the Prince of Wales, her troubled marriage, and her public life.

When someone has passed away - should scandalous tapes like this be aired, or should the public just let them rest in peace?

On the other hand, perhaps the tapes are relevant and do give Diana a voice during a period of her life where she couldn't tell the public what was going on?
