VIDEO: #LikeAGirl
Updated | By tanstan fourie

You hit like a girl’ or ‘you run like a girl’ have been phrases in my vocabulary for as long as I can remember.
It might stem from growing up in a family of 5 boys or going to an all boy boarding school but I suspect it might be more from society itself as a whole than purely from my male dominated upbringing.
I never thought twice about using this language, in fact I can recall just the other day saying it to my five-year-old daughter; “Come on baby, catch like a boy."
I didn’t give a second thought to how that made her feel.
Then I saw this video and I promise you, since seeing this video… I will not make that mistake again.
How do girls feel when you say this to them, do you say it to your girl children?
