VIDEO: 11-year-old invents Chemo Backpack
Updated | By Rory Petzer

11-year-old Kylie Simonds' fight with cancer inspired her to invent a life-changing device.
When given a school assignment to invent something with the aim of solving everyday problems, Kylie from Naugatuck, Connecticut decided to use her own experiences to create something to help other kids fighting cancer.
Her invention, the Chemo Backpack, is a portable IV machine for kids undergoing chemotherapy or transfusions.
Kylie even designed her Chemo Backpack in different designs in order to appeal to all kids.
The Drive Team unanimously salutes Kylie as a true hero. Definitely one of the best inventions we have seen.
Kylie has been cancer-free for two years.
She is currently raising money to create a working prototype through a CrowdRise page.
