Social Media – when is enough, enough?

Social media was meant to connect people more but Terence Pillay feels that things like Facebook and Twitter is the greatest disconnect of the modern World…

We are a very unproductive nation at the best of times so where do we find time to do all this social networking?
Many companies have taken to banning things like Facebook and other social media platforms in an effort to raise productivity but with smart phones with 3G it is a losing battle.
I understand we are social creatures and need to feel connected and a sense of belonging but with things like ‘Checking In’ on Facebook being the new fad, we simply create scenario’s of reality than actually enjoying reality!
In any event Facebook has become less about social interaction and more about being a Marketing platform of note! It’s all about social Marketing not social media and social networking!
