Darren hates litterers!

Darren thinks littering is worse than cutting people off in the traffic or farting in the elevator and blaming someone else! Do you agree or disagree?

I know hate is a harsh word so let me consider it before I use it…Yep, I hate litterers!
Littering has got to be one of the most selfish and antisocial behaviours ever.
It’s worse than cutting people off in the traffic or farting in the elevator and blaming someone else.
It’s worse because it seems almost like everyone is doing it and because the repercussions are dire to the planet, you know, that little blue spot in the cosmos that we call home, the only one we have or ever will.
The thing is that every person that litters thinks that they do so in isolation and that their individual action won’t affect this massive planet. That would be so if it were in isolation but it isn’t.
We lead such isolated myopic lives that it is hard to see that every little thing we do has far reaching consequences. Your act of littering today empowers the next litterbug and so on.
It would seem that until it is punishable by strict fines and prison terms and enforced by a fierce omnipresent and dedicated force, nothing will change.
The stupidest and most ignorant argument I have heard for the excuse for littering is that it’s good for ‘job creation.’
I would agree if those jobs were the cops who arrested you and the lawyers who prosecuted you and the jailors who housed you and the prison cooks who fed you while you served your sentence for littering.
The environmental impact of litter on our fauna and flora (your lamb chops and side salad) is well documented. Litter quite litter-ally poisons and suffocates our ecosystems. If you were caught poisoning food and then feeding that food to someone, you would go to jail.
Littering is the same; in the long run it has the same effects.
So if I react badly to you when you throw a plastic fast food bag out the window of your car, remember, I’m looking at the big picture – It’s the same as you wrapping that plastic bag around my head – I just might lose my rag.
We think we should be more like the Japanese - Take a look why:

Do you classify littering as‘job creation’?
