Updated | By Andre Bloem

A 10kg white steenbrass was caught at Port Shepstone recently.
A relatively rare catch in KZN waters, the steenbras took the bait at around 3pm.
This fish was hooked up by Bilal Khan and then given to his visiting cousin, AK Ismail, to experience the fight and then land this beauty. Ismail lives in Johannesburg.
White steenbras are more commonly found in the Eastern and Western Cape waters.
This one was caught on fresh sardine belly with the tide pushing in. Khan was targeting shad when the steenbras took his bait.
