PHOTO: Large kob at Umkomaas
Updated | By Staff Writer

Warner Beach local angler, Liam Artingstall, landed a decent 11 kg Kob on Tuesday night on chokka bait at Umkomaas.
Kob are known to be good eating fish, they can also be refererred to as kabeljou, croaker, salmon and drum.
They can tolerate marine and brackish waters and are commonly found in estuaries and lagoons, as well as in shallow waters close to the shore and in deeper waters. Deep river mouths are often home to large kob.
It’s going to be a cool and wet day in Durban with a 60 percent chance of light rain in the early morning with rain showers & thundershowers later. We have WNW winds blowing this morning. Surfers in the know were able to scoop a few waves yesterday morning and with offshores this morning there could be a few gems again today.
