PSA demands quality materials for KZN pothole repairs
Updated | By Tsakane Mhlongo
The Public Servants Association says transport officials
must ensure that construction companies tasked with repairing KZN's potholes
use only quality materials.

Last week, the provincial department launched a 'War on Potholes' campaign, rolling out a budget of more than R200 million for the project.
MEC Siboniso Duma said the plan is to tackle the repair backlog.
The state of the province’s roads came under scrutiny again following reports of pothole-related injuries.
A biker was left in a critical condition after hitting a pothole on the R102 near the Phoenix off-ramp last month.
An elderly couple's car flipped when they struck a pothole on the R102 near Glen Anil.
Mlungisi Ndlovu from the PSA has welcomed the initiative but says it needs to be done properly.
"The PSA has urged the Department of Transport to ensure the proper use of funds and avoid corruption. They must insist that contractors use quality materials to ensure long-lasting roads.
“Potholes have serious consequences. They damage vehicles and cause accidents, delay emergency services and negatively affect the economy."
