'No budget cuts for NPOs': KZN Social Development MEC
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
KZN Social Development MEC Weziwe Thusi has reassured Non-Profit Organisations - saying there's no need to panic following reports of subsidy cuts from this month.

Addressing media in Durban this morning - Thusi said they've been inundated with queries from concerned NPOs wanting to know if financial assistance from the department would be slashed.
She says they remain committed to assisting the NPOs registered with them.
"[In] the current financial year there will be no budget cuts to the NPO's - despite the fact that the department has experienced severe budget cuts on its budget allocations, due to the slow economic growth which has resulted in less revenue for the government," she said.
Thusi added that in the current financial year alone, the department's budget had been cut by 3% - amounting to R83.1-million.
