KZN storm: Bodies of three people recovered

The bodies of three people whose homes were hit by mudslides in the south of Durban have been recovered.

A couple was buried in the first structural collapse in KwaMakhutha during Wednesday night's heavy downpours.
Their children are said to have escaped to a neighbour's house.

"I can confirm that both parents, the mom and dad, have been recovered from the first incident in the KwaMakhutha area,” said ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson.
He said officials spent several hours using heavy-duty equipment to dig their way through the rubble.
Another entrapped body has been recovered in nearby Adams, about nine kilometres away.

The victim is a man believed to be in his 30s.
"All three bodies have been recovered by SAPS, metro police search and rescue, as well as eThekwini Fire Department,” said Jamieson.
