A manhunt has been launched after an IFP councillor and a child were gunned down in Mtubatuba.

National police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe says councillor Ndukenhle Duma, from Nongoma in northern KZN, was travelling on the R618 when his car broke down on Wednesday.
While trying to sort out the problem, he was ambushed by unknown gunmen.
Mathe says pupils who were on their way home from school also came under fire.
One child was tragically killed, and four others were wounded.
"The suspects then fired shots at a passing scholar transport taxi that was transporting school children. Four children were shot and wounded.”
She says National Commissioner Fannie Masemola has deployed a specialist police team to investigate.
"He has also ordered the mobilisation of maximum resources to apprehend those behind this incident. We have our forensic science experts, which include our ballistic unit, to gather all evidence related to this incident."
