ICASA to rule on SABC's decision over DA advert
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
The DA is confident the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa will force the SABC to broadcast its adverts.

The opposition party believes not airing their advertisments amounts to censorship.
DA spokesperson Phumzile van Damme claims they were told by the SABC that the national broadcaster did not use the advertisments because they were waiting for the IEC to publish lists of candidates for parties contesting the local government elections.
She says this has not been a requirement before and that the party's democratic rights are being denied.
"This is an absolutely nonsensical argument - there is no requirement in any law for the SABC to wait for the IEC to publish these lists. On this basis that we have approached ICASA in order to make sure that ICASA forces the SABC to air our adverts.
"We believe the SABC's refusal to air our adverts is a form of censorship," she said.
