Botha’s Hill family lose everything in house fire
Updated | By Tamasha Khanyi
A family from Botha's Hill, west of Durban, says they have lost everything after a fire destroyed their home.

Kerryn Bailey's family found themselves without a roof over their head when their house became engulfed in flames on Thursday afternoon.
"My company has a stand at the East Coast Radio House and Garden show, so I was standing at the exhibition stand when we got a message from our son-in-law saying, 'Please, we need help at home; the house is on fire'."
Bailey says her husband called emergency services.
"The interior is timber flooring and the structure. It was so quick, and the blaze was so hot; it just went up so quickly, and there was nothing they could do. It even spread to the other homes, the granny flats on the property."
"It was a beautiful old stone home that was over 100 years old. I haven't quite been able to bring myself out there. My husband was there this morning.
"The family is split up at the moment; some of us are staying with my mom, and two of our older children are staying with friends. It has been hard while you want to be together as a family and grieve and deal through the loss."
She says she's thankful to the Upper Highway community, who've created a collection point for donations.
Bailey is appealing for basic clothing and household items as well as beds to sleep in.
