Azraa Ebrahim earned her Bachelor of Social Science degree this week.

The graduate, who majored in Religion Studies and Industrial Psychology, says she began her studies during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Azraa says she had to learn to adapt to classes online and in-person lectures.

" In-person was a bit more difficult because I had to navigate universities, memorise all the different routes and different lecture venues, but I enjoyed in-person more 'cause it felt more real.

"I was actually going to university and experiencing the difficulties of lectures and exams, and I found that I was more motivated and I did a lot better academically when I was in person versus online."

Azraa says she's grateful to her family, friends and the varsity for their support.

" I would say it was difficult, but I am incredibly grateful to the university's disability unit. Been helping me to make sure that I transitioned well and I didn't face any difficulties.

"But at the same time, because I had previously attended a mainstream primary school, I was familiar with being in classrooms where no one else had disabilities."
