Swearing in of KZN MEC for Agriculture delayed

KwaZulu-Natal Premier Willies Mchunu says Themba Mthembu who was appointed as MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development has requested that his swearing in ceremony be delayed.

Mthembu, the SACP's KZN Provincial Secretary is not present this morning at the office of the Premier in Durban where the four other MECs were sworn in this morning.

The Premier congratulated the new members of the executive council on their appointments. 


Mchunu said he respects Mthembu's request for a delay and that there has been no change to the offer made. 


The SACP is expected to hold a briefing in Durban this morning.


Opposition parties voiced out various opinions regarding the reshuffle.
