The South African Revenue Service is warning potential drug smugglers entering the country that they will face the long arm of the law.

The comment comes after two separate multi-million rand drug busts this week. Officials on Wednesday nabbed a man with heroin with an estimated street value of R58-million at the Lebombo border post with Mozambique.

Two foreign nationals were caught on Sunday at the Kopfontein border post in the North West Province with almost R80-million worth of mandrax.

SARS spokesperson, Sandile Memela says they are more than ready for the fight against drug smuggling.

"SARS Customs officials are ready and willing to take the fight back to the smugglers," he said.

"We will also put proper systems and processes into place to fast-track the stoppage of smuggling into the country," Memela said.
