There's an 80% chance of rain today and tomorrow with warnings it might lead to localised flooding in the southern and western parts as well as along the coast.

Weather Forecaster Thandiwe Gumede says strong winds from Margate towards Durban can also be expected.

eThekwini Metro and the uMgungundlovu District Municipality are warning motorists to exercise extra caution as they drive back home this afternoon and evening.

eThekwin Metro Police's Sibonelo Mchunu says most roads in Durban have been affected.

"There are no closures but all roads are affected because most roads have got pools of water but no roads have been completely shut down," he said.
