NPA wants Appeal Court to decide on Zuma corruption charges
Updated | By Khatija Nxedlana
The National Prosecuting Authority will apply for leave to appeal the Pretoria High Court ruling relating to the more than 700 corruption charges gainst President Jacob Zuma.
The High Court ruled last month that a 2009 decision by former acting NPA Head Mokotedi Mpshe to drop Zuma's prosecution was irrational.
It follows an application brought by the DA to have the decision reviewed.

Briefing the media in Pretoria, Director of Public Prosecutions Shaun Abrahams says he's instructed the State Attorney to file the necessary papers this morning.
''The judgement of the full bench of the Pretoria High Court is also a matter that seriously affects the separation of powers. This is an important matter of principle which affects all prosecutions. It is so important - I believe it needs a decision of an Appeal Court,'' he said.
