The mother of the missing four-year-old eSikhawini boy who has albinism says she still hasn't lost hope that she'll find her son alive.
Maneliswa Ntombela, who is also known as Mlungu was abducted by a suspect while he and his cousin were on their way to church, a few meters from his parents' home.
On Friday, police arrested a 28-year-old woman in Emanguzi while looking for Mlungu who is still missing.
She appeared in the Ubombo Mgistrate's Court yesterday and remanded in custody.
Police say their investigation revealed the woman had been arranging to sell another albino child in the area for R100 000 to a local traditional healer.
Mlungu's mother Hloniphile Ntombela says she's pleased with the latest development in the case.
"I hadn't heard of the arrest from police. I've no words to describe how I feel about the arrest but I haven't lost hope and I won't ever loose hope. The suspect appeared in the Ubombo Magistrate’s Court yesterday on July 4 and was remanded until Tuesday when she applies for bail," she said.
Meanwhile, the Social Development Department says the woman should not be released on bail and has praised the traditional healer who alerted police.
