Manhunt on for armed suspects

KZN police have launched a manhunt for a group of gunmen who fled the scene of a fatal shootout with officers in KwaMashu, north of Durban, yesterday.
3 suspects were shot dead by police at a hostel in Kholwa Road.
Officers believe the suspects were involved in the recent gun battle with police in Seven Oakes, near Greytown. Spokesperson Jay Naicker confirmed that an intelligence driven operation led police to the scene.
"When officers approached the suspects they opened fire on police and during the exchange of gunfire three men were fatally wounded while the others managed to flee", he said.
3 firearms were recovered following the incident. Naicker says a case of attempted murder is being investigated. An inquest docket has also been opened. The province’s top brass is urging communities to report suspects and not harbour criminals.
