'Jobs for cash' report to be released as scheduled

Education officials say the report into the 'jobs for cash' scandal will be released publicly on Friday even though teachers union Sadtu only submitted its side of the story this week.
Basic Education spokesperson, Elijah Mhlanga, says they met on Monday with task-team leader, Professor John Volmink to hear oral submissions from Sadtu.
''We all need to be on the same page when it comes to the interpretation of various issues that are raised in the report," he said.
The City Press newspaper exposed the scandal which revealed that teachers and principals’ posts were being sold for cash and livestock.
Schools including those in KZN and Gauteng were affected.
Mhlanga says those implicated will have to face the consequences.
''It will depend on the nature of the offence, we can't predetermine that at moment. We had lawyers involved in the investigations, we had the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development, we also had forensic auditors gathering evidence as part of the investigation,'' he said.
It was reported that the list was leaked to the media and the department was verifying the contents if they match with the one the minister will make public on Friday.
