According to KwaZulu Private Ambulance Service, the first accident took place on the N2 near Wilsons Cutting, when a taxi rolled - leaving 15 people injured.

The second accident occurred on the P200 in Izotsha, when a taxi and a car collided head-on.

The service's Belinda Catchpole says a third accident - a head-on collision between two vehicles, also took place also on the P200 near Gamalakhe. No injuries were reported in that incident.

Catchpole says the current wet conditions in the area may have contributed to the accidents.

"The police are investigating at the moment. It is raining quite heavily on the South Coast. When it is raining or after it has just rained any oily substances on the tar roads do surface, making the roads very slippery," she said.

She's advised drivers in the area to reduce their speed, and to maintain a safe following distance to other vehicles.
