The worst things women do on dates revealed

Men have revealed some of the terrible things their dates have done.

men

Scores of men have taken to Reddit to reveal the worst things women do on first dates.

From talking about their exes to taking pictures of their food for Instagram, these men are fed up and want the world to know.

We think a few of them have some valid points, but we would love to know what men do on first dates that annoy women as well.

Ladies, if you have any first date horror stories, please share them in the comments section.

In the meantime, here’s what men say bug them the most!

Texting your ex

One Reddit user revealed that his evening went horribly wrong when his date spotted her ex,  Chad, at the bar. “Chad sees that I'm with her and soon leaves the bar. A few minutes later, my date starts checking her phone and texting someone,” the man said. She then ditched her date to go back to Chad’s house. She sent an apology text an hour later, telling the man that her ex did not let her in. Ouch!

Being too clingy

Another user described how a woman he met online became a tad bit too clingy when they decided to meet up in person. She bombarded the man with messages the entire day, and if he didn’t reply immediately, she would start calling him non-stop. She also sent text messages counting down the hours and minutes left until their date. He decided to call off the date after having enough of her constant texts. Of course, this was followed by more texts, this time they included pictures of his would-be date crying.

Spending too much time on your phone

It seems dinner etiquette has gone out the window in the digital age. If people are not taking pictures of their food, or stopping mid conversation to take a selfie with their date, they are responding to constant notifications. One man said he did not understand the need for such behaviour, especially when you are trying to get to know your date – not her phone! “I cannot see how anyone thinks this is acceptable. I see it all the time with people on dates or with friends and it is so sad,” the Reddit user commented.

Being superficial

One man revealed he had gone on a date with a girl who kept asking his health insurance benefits. Another user said his date asked him in detail about his work and how much he was paid.

Playing hard to get

The point of going on a date with someone is to get to know them. Some men expressed their frustration at women playing hard to get on the first date. “It also smacks of superiority: I'm not interested in dating someone who thinks she's better than me,” one user said. Another man revealed he once tried talking to a woman who was sitting alone in a corner at a party. When he approached her she only had one thing to say: “You have to earn my attention."
