WATCH: Roads flooded in parts of KZN

The SA Weather Services says 60 to 80% chances of rainfall is expected across KZN today, with a warning for localised flooding in areas along the KZN coast.

Paramedics have been kept busy this week attending to accidents occurring on wet roads. 


A vehicle overturned on the N2 just before Umdloti, on the coast after the driver lost control of the vehicle this morning. Paramedics say the driver sustained life-threatening injuries and is currently being treated in hospital.

In another accident, five people were injured after the taxi they were travelling in veered off the road and crashed into a security building, off Riverhorse Road, in Newlands.

Robert Mckenzie who's with KZN EMS has advised motorists to drive with extreme caution during adverse weather conditions. 


While, areas such as Newcastle, the berg, Shaka's Rock and KwaDukuza have been affected by localised flooding.

Disaster teams and emergency crews remain on alert as rainy conditions persist.
