Two Ethiopian Airlines pilots fell asleep at 9100 metres in the air
Ethiopian Airlines is currently caught up in a storm.
Two pilots fell asleep during a flight, with the plane missing the runway at Bole International Airport in the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa.
The plane did eventually land safely 25 minutes later after the two pilots were woken up by an alarm.

According to The Aviation Herald, the two pilots only managed to wake up after an alarm was triggered when the autopilot mode disconnected and went off.
According to the Maravi post, air traffic controllers reportedly tried to contact them after they missed their landing.
The passenger flight was headed from Sudan’s Khartoum Airport to Addis Ababa.

Even though the airplane did land safely, it was a terrifying experience for all involved.

Aviation analysts have looked at this situation and have described the incident as really concerning.
One of the aviation analysts, Alex Macheras, recently spoke about the incident: “Pilot fatigue is nothing new, as it continues to pose one of the most significant threats to air safety both locally and internationally."
