South Africa A humbled in India

Axar Patel completed an outstanding all-round match by bowling India A to victory by an innings and 81 runs over South Africa A on the final day of the unofficial four-day Test series in Wayanad.

India thus win the series 1-0 after the first match was drawn.

India declared overnight with a first innings lead of 157 runs and then bowled South Africa A out in the morning session for 76.

Patel produced outstanding figures of 6-6-0-4. This followed his five-wicket haul in the first innings and his third highest score in the Indian innings of 69 not out.

His match bowling aggregate was 9/92.

Stiaan van Zyl and Quinton de Kock were the only players to reach double figures in the South Africa A second innings.

De Kock made 20 and Van Zyl 10, while Temba Bavuma was dismissed for just 3.
