Shaka's Head crash victims laid to rest this weekend
A taxi crashed down an embankment and landed on railway tracks on Monday - before being hit by an oncoming passenger train.
16 people were killed in the accident. Some of the families are holding funerals today, while others have planned services for tomorrow.
A mass memorial for the victims was held in Groutville this week.
Joel Ntuli - who lost his 36-year-old niece Bongi Ntuli in the accident - told Newswatch that it was sad to hear that the driver did not stop at the stop street.
"It would be nice if taxi owners had external companies that vetted drivers before hiring them to establish whether they are competent enough", he said.
Meanwhile, Robert Mhlongo - who lost his brother Khulekani Dludla - says he doesn't blame the driver:
"I cannot say I blame the driver because I do not think it was on purpose so I cannot accuse him of anything" he said.
