Style tips for the Big Walk
Updated | By Staff Writer
We got some Discovery East Coast Radio Big Walk style tips from our in-house fashionistas Zaba, Bongani Mtolo and Jane Linley-Thomas.
As they show, it’s not hard at all to add some personal quirk to your look for the day.
Whether you’re going for gold in the 20km or planning a fun 5km stroll with your family, remember that being comfortable is what’s most important!
Jane's look:
For my Discovery East Coast Radio Big Walk look I went for a pair of red Puma high tops, polka dot tracksuit pants matched with a red tulle skirt, and my East Coast Radio top tied in an ‘80s style’ knot. Red, black and white is one of my favourite colour combos so matching our brand colours is a joy. Add to that a splash of red from my heart accessories, a touch of bling and brightly painted nails and I'm ready to hit the vibe! Just a few more sleeps and I can't wait! It is always such a pleasure hanging out with an extension of our 'family' while they are with theirs – all walking Durban together.
Bongani’s look:
On the day I’ll be wearing Jordan’s, Nike shorts and my Chicago Bulls Hat. I’ll be wearing my Jordan’s because they are comfortable and they have ankle protection so I can walk comfortably. You also need a hat, because it’s going to get hot!
Zaba’s look:
I decided to go with a hiphop-ish look! I chose a silver cap because 1) one must always bling and 2) sun protection is always important. High top sneakers are always the bomb when it comes looking slick and they're really comfortable. And of course there’s always room to get creative with some uber cool accessories!
