Two people killed in Hilton plane crash

Two elderly men have been killed in a plane crash in Hilton, near Pietermaritzburg.
The light aircraft came down on a farm this afternoon.
Paramedics, SAPS Search and Rescue and the Howick Fire Department responded to the crash.
ER24 spokesperson, Ineke van Huyssteen, says the two men were declared dead at the scene.
"The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not known", she said.
The pilot and his passenger were the only occupants of the light aircraft.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority, the aircraft came down shortly after taking off from a nearby air field.
It had been headed to the south coast
The CAA has sent a team of investigators to establish the circumstances around the accident.
