Robyn was a second year Humanities student at Stellenbosch University.

“We are just over the death of her father five years ago and now this. It is all so completely unexpected,” Bronwyn Pearce, Robyn’s aunt, told News24 on Sunday.

“It has all been a lot for the family the past week dealing with police and this tragedy.”

Robyn’s body was taken to Durban last week and she was laid to rest on Saturday.

Incorrect facts

Bronwyn has criticised the media for false reporting.

“We are frustrated that the basic facts aren’t reported correctly,” Bronwyn said.

“For example, Robyn was visiting her mom’s flat in Sea Point and not a friend’s flat as is being reported.”

“Her (Robyn) body was also discovered on Friday the 2nd of December, and not the Saturday.”

Bronwyn could not give any additional information on Robyn’s murder and said that she hopes someone will soon come forward with additional information.

“She could’ve been killed by a burglar, we just don’t know,” Bronwyn added.

News24 reported on Sunday that Robyn was stabbed in an apartment in Sea Point. According to Western Cape Police spokesperson Captain Federick van Wyk no arrests have been made.
