Updated | By Shaun Ryan
Authorities are investigating after a man was killed in a single vehicle crash in Umbilo last night.
Emergency services say the motorist crashed into a light pole just after 8.30pm.
Rescue Care's Ceron Lennox says they arrived at the scene and found carnage on the road.
"It was along Z K Matthew Road. We found one vehicle against the pole - it was an absolute carnage with one person in the vehicle. Unfortunately, after taking the injured out of the vehicle - they performed resuscitation for about 25 minutes but he succumbed to his injuries," she said.
Lennox says the man died on scene.
Meanwhile, fifteen people have been hurt after two taxis collided with each other on Lawinski Drive in Margate. Netcare 911 paramedics say they all sustained moderate to minor injuries.
