LISTEN: ANC angered by Mthembu's calls for NEC to step down
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
The ANC has hit back at its chief whip, Jackson Mthembu - telling him to familiarise himself with the party's regulations.
Spokesperson Zizi Kodwa says the ANC's top 6 can't simply just resign - as was the call made by Mthembu.

Kodwa says it is irresponsible for the NEC to do so, without following party protocol.
As far as Mthembu's fate after speaking out in public over the state of the party's leadership, Kodwa says the chief whip will be called to voice his concerns internally.
Division within the ruling party is said to be rife - following the decision to prosecute Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan on fraud charges.
Mthembu made the call for a change in leadership at the weekend - adding that the current leadership is not fit to steer the ANC in that right direction.
