The National Sea Rescue Institute says the 68-year-old man's body - believed to have been bitten by a shark - was found following an extensive search at sea.

The NSRI says they received a report of a missing diver near the northern pinnacle at Protea Banks - early yesterday afternoon.

Fellow divers said they had been surfacing when the man disappeared.

Several NSRI sea rescue craft and police search and rescue joined a joint search operation already underway - involving multiple private boats and charter vessels.
