All KZN beaches now reopened
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
It's good news for beachgoers as all of the remaining beaches on the KZN coast which had been closed as a safety measure - have now been re-opened to the public.

Severe weather conditions, accompanied by strong winds and resulting in 4-metre sea swells, led to the closure over the past weekend.

While the majority of beaches were re-opened, a few - including Zinkwazi, Blythedale, Warner, Winkelspruit, Karridene, Umgababa and Port Edward - remained off limits to bathers until this morning.
The KZN Sharks Board's Mike Anderson-Reade says the swells have reduced - to about half a metre at the moment.
"We don't anticipate any more problems going forward. We did however have a few nets that were damaged, but we've just finished up recovering those. So everything is back to normal," he said.
