Mom praised for publicly breastfeeding baby after triathlon

Women who choose to breastfeed in public are often criticised, and that often discourages new moms from feeding their children in public.

But not Katrina Bolduc from California. A few seconds after completing her fifth triathlon, she decided to publicly breastfeed her seven-month-old son, a thing she wouldn’t have done months ago without being criticised, Today reported.

"After I came through the running chute, I got my finisher's medal, grabbed some water and came right out to say hello to them. My husband said, 'Oh, he's hungry. He missed you,' so I just grabbed my son and started feeding him," she told the publication.

Bolduc went on to share her breastfeeding picture on Facebook, and was praised by many, including a group called 'Breastfeeding Mama', who even shared the photo.

It was just this morning I was reading a piece on Facebook about a mother who was treated so disparagingly on a flight while breastfeeding her small bubba.

I must be upfront and say that breastfeeding never came easily to me.

I certainly gave it my best, but found it to be very stressful.

I wish I was one of those moms who took to it with such ease and grace and was able to do it anywhere, not with tear-filled eyes in bed.

I say good for these earth moms and who are we to judge? To be honest the way some people behave and treat each other with such disdain and disrespect is more embarrassing then a mom feeding her child.
